Things Change
The consulting market is fast evolving, mainly because the needs of customers that are becoming ever more complex.
New technological paradigms in the field of communication, information sharing and types of work can encourage the creation of professional network that involves the pooling of their knowledge and their networks, thus laying the foundation for the realization of economies of scale and scope, making grove the business opportunities and the offer for the customer, potentially going to cover all of its various needs.
In this context it’s possible to imagine a new role of consultancy: aside the a classical / traditional consultancy model is possible to have an innovation-based consultancy, creating synergies between the two types of consultancy and the creation of new services. The collaborative relationships between the corporate world and the world of startups are changing and will change more and more of the market scenarios. Companies and “entrepreneur” must learn to work together effectively (this is especially true in the digital business world, but it is extensible to other markets). According to some studies (Accenture) revenues from the collaboration between companies (large companies) and start-ups will rise-up from the current 9% to 20% in 5 years).
To do so, the nature of collaboration, however, must change: the system must move from a bilateral cooperation between the company and startup to a collaboration based on a partner ecosystem. (In this context then it makes sense to speak of “enabling power of collaborative platforms”).
The creation of an ecosystem of partners who work effectively and efficiently is also influenced by cultural factors, for example the way in which they communicate.
In this context it makes sense to think of a subject who acts as a connector, a “bridge” that will facilitate the creation of channels of communication, collaboration and networks between the corporate and the startup world.
